Fight the Bad Stuff:
State Republican Budget Leaders have said they are planning to use CUTS to make the budget balance.
They are planning a "Job Cuts/ Pay Cuts" budget for the week of April 28, 2026.
The federal budget bill, HR1 was passed with only Republican support in Congress and it is wreaking havoc on our AZ state budget:
-
- Because of HR1, we need more staff for SNAP and TANF (Food for needy families) but the federal government is cutting funding to Arizona for it!
- On top of that, state Republican lawmakers are talking about a 25% cut to all agencies, meaning
- Cuts in pay or jobs cut for AZ highway patrol safety, teachers, the Attorney General's Consumer Fraud division that protects seniors, AHCCCS that keeps our workforce healthy, ELECTIONS computer systems!, support for small businesses, community colleges and a long list of dangerous cuts by Republican state lawmakers.
- AZ has about $380 mil of "discretionary" revenue to use -- over 3 years -- and the basic needs for state employee healthcare and school building repairs use that all up in 1 year!
- Republican tax Favors for big corporations and billionaires over too many years have left us with this Unbalanced Budget Mess!

Message Ideas:
| No new tax cuts | Dear Sen. xxx, For the state budget this year please say, "NO!" to any new tax cuts. We only have discretionary funds of about $378 mil – to be spread over 3 years! We Must fix our school buildings, pay for caregivers for those with disabilities, and cover basic healthcare for state employees. Support education, childcare, and safety. No new tax cuts! -- Mary Q. Publicperson, Peoria |
| Data Center problems |
To pay for education, road maintenance, and public safety, please Stop the DATA CENTER tax incentives Now! And vote NO on HB2873. |
| Childcare help |
Please continue Gov. Hobbs' investment in childcare support. Continue the $45 mil that helps families who cannot afford childcare to get a job and keep it. Please do not offer tax deductions to wealthy families and say that is for childcare. Wealthy families do not need a tax cut for the childcare they can already afford. The families who work full time for low pay need subsidies to even get childcare. Continue Hobbs’ program to reduce the waitlists for childcare for workers. |
| Tax the billionaires that own sports betting licenses. |
Tax the Billionaires who have sports-betting licenses! They should pay higher fees for their profits in the gambling industry. This tax should not affect the tribes because they are generally much smaller operations - not billionaires. |
| HB2873 - data centers - to Gov. Hobbs |
Dear Gov. Hobbs, Thank you for including extreme heat mitigation in your budget proposal. Care for our neighbors is fundamental to being human. PLEASE VETO HB2873. The Town Council of Marana voted to allow the Beale data center project. Next, thousands of citizens of Marana signed the petition to overturn the town council’s vote because the people do not want it in their town! Large data centers are horrible near homes because they increase the heat, use too much water, and spike electricity bills for everybody but themselves! We need regulations and reforms. This year, please Repeal all the tax incentives that data centers get. |
| HB2873 - Unconstitutional- to Gov. Hobbs |
Dear Gov. Hobbs, Thank you for all your vetoes! Your childcare program has been great! It’s good for our whole economy, so please continue the funding each year. PLEASE VETO HB2873. It specifically violates the AZ Constitutional rights of the people of Marana to vote in a city referendum. They have done the work to gather signatures, and every person who signed it has the right to vote in the election about the data center. ** HB2873 applies to all cities and towns! ** Data centers need reforms now! Please start by repealing all the tax incentives they get. |
| Classic Bad Bill made for Billionaires -> |
Dear Rep. xxx, Please vote NO on SB1633, the But SB1633 is a bad bill. It would have no limit on the income tax exemption. A zillionaire with a $2 mil profit does not need even bigger tax favors for the rich! |
